Bring Back The Draft in the US

Posted by Henric C. Jensen on March 5, 2008

Victims
Since the expansion of the number of women in the military, what about George W. Bush’s daughters – Barbara and Jenna? Their father repeatedly describes the war in Iraq as crucially important to protect the United States and to spread democracy in the Middle East. Early on, he called it a “crusade” until his advisers made sure he never mentioned this word again, since it has a special meaning for the Islamic world.President Bush also repeatedly asserted that the losses of life and the costs of the Iraq war are “worth the sacrifice.” Whose sacrifice? Certainly not that of the family in the White House. There have been no indications in this town of 24/7 gossip of either the parents urging or the daughters considering joining the armed forces.
Double Standards, in whatever context is outrageous. I say, bring back the general draft in the US. Since the US Commander in Chief is so fond of sending American Troops to all kinds of places on the Planet, especially places where there is a buck to be had, it wouldn’t be more than fair that his daughters, and every US High Military’s sons and daughters would have to serve.
Great article!

The Republic of Kosovo – World Nation # 197*

Posted by Henric C. Jensen on February 18, 2008

Kosovo Flag

Poor Albanians… You still don’t get it.

You are under educated as much as the Serbs are. Your incompetent little joke of “country” will never be independent. You have only changed the boss.

Do you really think Americans help you because they like you? Or because you suffered? Do you really believe in American fairy-tales about the world democracy and human rights?

I am pretty aware why US want Kosovo independent. In fact, they do not want it independent as much they want it OUT of Serbia.

I think most other people too are aware of why the US wants Kosovo out of Serbia, just as we all know why Russia and Serbia wants it to remain inside Serbia.

The reserves of Kosovo coal is enough for the needs of the whole Serbia in the next 200 years (17 billions of tons)
The soil samples from Kosovo indicate enormous reserves of the oil – though very deep in the ground (but not unreachable). Also, Manas Petroleum Corp. confirmed this researching oil reserves in North Albania (visit their website here)
The reserves of galena ore and zinc ores are practically inexhaustible. These ores are concentrated in the mine of Trepca (read: Trepcha), the second biggest lead and zinc producer in Europe
Big reserves of rare minerals such the ores of boron (used in nuclear technology), nickel and cobalt.
The agricultural potential is said to be bigger than the one in Vojvodina (Serbian North)
Fresh water – no comment

It is obvious, very obvious. An Independent Kosovo is a very rich country in terms of raw materials.
However, this has nothing to do with the reason why Kosovars want out of Serbia. They want out for the same reason Finland wanted out of Russia, East Timor wanted of Indonesia, India wanted out of the Brittish Commom Wealth, Palestine wants to be a Nation of their own and Abkhasia declared their independence – People have an innate desire for self-determination. They also have the right.
Kosovars aren’t Albanians, nor are they Serbs, Turks, Romani people, Goranis, Bosniaks or other ethnic communities. They are Kosovars. That is why, ultimately, they want to be the Republic of Kosovo. That is why we should hail them as the newest member of the 194 country strong International Community, and support their efforts to remain independent and free of imperialistic interventions from the US, Russia and Serbia or any other nation who wish to strip Kosovo of her rich natural resources that are rightfully hers and her people’s.

*“Definitions of what constitutes a country also vary. Some will go with the simple view that if it is a member of the United Nations(UN) it’s a country. By that reckoning there are 192 countries in the world. But Vatican City is undoubtedly a country, and not a member of the UN, so that means the total must now be 193! Oh and then there are Taiwan and Tibet – so that’s 195.” This site is not counting East Timor and Kosovo, so…that makes 197.

The US and Iran Declare each other Terrorists

Posted by Henric C. Jensen on September 30, 2007

    Peas in a Pod

By ALI AKBAR DAREINI, Associated Press Writer

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran’s parliament voted Saturday to designate the CIA and the U.S. Army as “terrorist organizations,” a largely symbolic response to a U.S. Senate resolution seeking a similar designation for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

The parliament said the Army and the CIA were terrorists because of the atomic bombing of Japan; the use of depleted uranium munitions in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq; support of the killings of Palestinians by Israel; the bombing and killing Iraqi civilians and the torture of imprisoned terror suspects.

“The aggressor U.S. Army and the Central Intelligence Agency are terrorists and also nurture terror,” said a statement by the 215 lawmakers who signed the resolution at an open session of the 290-member Iranian parliament. The session was broadcast live on state-run radio.

The resolution, which urges Ahmadinejad’s government to treat the two as terrorist organizations, would become law if ratified by the country’s hard line constitutional watchdog but probably would have little effect as the two nations have no diplomatic relations.

The U.S. Senate voted Wednesday in favor of a resolution urging the State Department to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization. Charged with defending the system put in place after Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Guards answer to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and are revered by many for their defense of the country during the 1980s war with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

The terrorist designation, the first such move against a foreign government entity, would cut the Revolutionary Guards off from the U.S. financial system and freeze the assets of its members or subsidiaries have in U.S. jurisdictions. It would also allow the Treasury to move against firms subject to U.S. law that do business with the Guards, which have vast business interests at home and abroad.

While the proposal attracted overwhelming bipartisan support, a small group of Democrats said they feared that labeling the state-sponsored organization a terrorist group could be interpreted as a congressional authorization of military action in Iran.

    This is so silly…

And yet, no it’s not silly at all – because instead of two boys in a sand box whacking each other over the head with plastic shovels and miniature bobcats, we have two Big Boys with substantially larger and lethal toys, whacking at each other, threatening to wreck the sandbox – only their sandbox is populated by innocent people that inevitably will get squashed.

I wonder if they even thought about that?

USA – A Society of Bullies?

Posted by Henric C. Jensen on August 5, 2007

“Your Rights end where My Rights begin.”

“If you are not with me, you are against me.”

“Freedom of Speech means I may say anything I wish, and you may not say everything you wish.”

“If I think you are inferior to me, it is because you are.”

“Self-defense means I have the right to intrude on your space if I think you are wrong or pose a threat in my imagination.”

So does this mean you’re still the greatest country in the world?
You can bet your a** we are!

The USonian sentiment in a nutshell.

But let’s take the statements above the horizontal line one by one:

“Your Rights end where My Rights begin.”

This has been grained into the USonian National mind during the short time it has existed (231 years) to such a degree, that pointing out the error of this thinking seems futile. The entire US National interaction with the rest of the world is based on this idea – that the USA have rights that other Nations do not have, either because they (in the National USonian mind) are inferior to the US or because they do not share it’s opinions or because they choose to disagree with the Foreign Policies of the USA, or because the USonians say so.

Most USonians I have met on-line seriously believe that they have the right to determine what are the rights of others, and when or in what way those rights have been violated – which by their reckoning is never, since they think that they never violate the rights of others, regardless of nationality of “the other”, but especially non-USonians. If you disagree you are engaging in US-bashing and hate USonians.

    Typical Bully Thinking.

“If you are not with me, you are against me.”

No-one has said this better than the current President of the USA:

“Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists” – thus saying that ANYONE not immidiately cow-toeing to US policies in relations to not just the few terrorists responsible for the 9/11 attack, but any kind of Foreign Policy that could be construed to by implication be in relation to anyone opposing the US in its policies regarding the attack on 9/11 is by automation against the US. But this is not just a present idea – it has been the mode of thought in the USA since it’s inception.

The same was true of the USA of George Washington and the Founding Fathers of the USA, it has been true of any USonian Government that in anyway has perceived itself under some kind of attack. The result has always been the same – attack or repercussions.

To many USonians I have met on-line disagreement with their point of view or opinion is a personal insult, for which they will retaliate with insults, name-calling, verbal witch-hunts, lynch-mobs and above all continueous harassment and bullying whenever they have a chance. If you lack in proper respect (which is arbitrarily determined by them from instance to instance) for their superior USonianism you are automatically seen as the enemy of them personally, and of the US in general.

    Typical Bully Thinking.

“Freedom of Speech means I may say anything I wish, and you may not say everything you wish.”

Nowhere has the concept of Freedom of Speech been abused so much as in the USA – it doesn’t matter that Freedom of Speech (originally a Finnish concept) was invented to safe-guard the right of the people to criticize their government without fear of reprisal – in the application of the USonian Constitution it has come to mean ANY kind of speech, not just that which criticizes the US government, but any speech also between individuals, totally in disregard of any social and cultural conventions, that normally govern human interactions.

Most USonians I have met on-line have this peculiar idea that Freedom of Speech is not only to be defined by them from instance to instance (the major tool for assessment is whether they agree with what is said or not) but it also means that they may engage in name-calling, slander, libel, verbal harassment and general bad-mouthing, but you may not defend yourself or speak up against such speech, because then you are violating their Constitutional right to trash you in any way they like. And you most certainly may not respond in kind, because that is not your right.

    Typical Bully Thinking.

“If I think you are inferior to me, it is because you are.”

“Strength and Might is everything” and “Whoever has the most toys at the end of life wins…” These ideas have governed the USA relations to the World ever since it came into being. If it’s possible to force anyone to agreement, submission, or concessions, then the one forcing must be right – the methods, manners and means used to accomplished this is irrelevant, as long as the USA can claim to itself that it is Superior to all others.

Most USonians I have met on-line truly believe that any non-USonian is inferior to them, by default. Circular thinking at best, and supreme arrogance in general. You are inferior to them simply they say so. Those USonians are NEVER wrong and few of them would admit it if the thought by chance ever crossed their minds. Apologizing is admitting that one is wrong, being wrong is a weakness and that is why many USonians never apologize even when it’s clear that they have stepped in it.

    Typical Bully Thinking.

“Self-defense means I have the right to intrude on your space if I think you are wrong or pose a threat in my imagination.”

No Nation has ever been as prolific in its illegal warfare as the USA. It has invaded more other nations in the name of defending “Our Freedom” than any other nation during the last 231 years. The USA National Entity not only operates under the notion that anything not USonian is a threat to the USonian State, it truly believes that it has the right to attack other nations simply because those nations do not share its ideas and policies. No wonder that so many USonians believe they have the right to attack in defense of themselves even before they have been attacked. Their National Identity is built on the idea that anything not specifically USonian is a threat to their freedom.

In short this can be translated “Offense is the best Defense” – and since most USonians I have met on-line feel that any disagreement is an attack on their person, they will preempt any such attack by attacking you first. Those USonians never attack anybody, they merely defend themselves.

    Typical Bully Thinking.

I am sure that I will receive bunches of hate-mail and hateful comments on this post, especially, I think, people will claim that I am accusing all USonians of being bullies – let me put it this way – if the shoe fits, wear it. I really don’t care, those who can read and care to understand what I have written, will see the absurdity of such claims.
