UDHR 1
Article 1.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
I think we all agree on this, but what does it mean? It means that all people are the same, have the same worth, same rights and same responsibilities to live up to this article.
I mentioned responsibility. That means that if I claim this right for myself I have to extend the same right to others. I cannot say that some people do not have those rights, because to so would be to denounce the responsibility that automatically comes with this Article.
It also means that those rights are something we are born with - they cannot be removed, not even if I myself violate them or deny them to others. They are my Birth Right as a Human Being. I have them simply because I am Human and born. This is the closest to G-d, Secular Humanism comes in terms of Absoluteness.
